HATE CRIMES:

In the past few weeks, NOOSES have appeared in numerous places, spawning an orgy of coverage along with questions about their significance and potential harm.  The noose historically has represented violence, death, injustice, and racism.

 When NOOSES appear on trees, on doors, on the back of trucks,  and in well-traveled public places--- should we dismiss them as tasteless diversions? Cries for attention from sick, benighted souls?   If only the questions were purely hypothetical.   Some White people claim that the NOOSE is a symbol for "white justice." While far too many White people want to minimize these demonstrations --as being "pranks"-- most Black leaders believe that these acts should be legislated and enforced as "HATE CRIMES."

FOR BLACK PEOPLE...the American Dream has been

 "the Amerikkklan Nightmare."

 

 

Innocent black people --men and women --were lynched and

burned while white people celebrated !

 

 

                                

              THERE WERE THOUSANDS OF THESE TYPES

OF LYNCHINGS THAT WERE NEVER

 INVESTIGATED OR PROSECUTED.  NO ONE

 WAS EVER BROUGHT TO JUSTICE FOR THE CRIMES.

 

Nooses have recently become more popular...and have

been placed to insult and intimidate Black people...

in the oddest of places...such as at the door of professors.

  Nooses ignited the controversy surrounding the JENA 6 CASE.

A Bit of Humor:

     

 

"Mirror-Mirror"

 

Ralph Nader, Al Gore, and George W. Bush go to a fitness spa for some fun. After a good workout and a stimulating, healthy lunch, all three decide to visit the men's room. 

 

There they found a strange little elf-like man sitting at the entrance. He greeted them saying:

"Welcome to the gentlemen's room. Be sure to check out our newest feature--- “ Mother Nature’s mirror,” which if you look into and say something truthful, will reward you with your fondest wish. But be warned - if you say something false, you will be sucked into the mirror, doomed to live in a void of nothingness for all eternity!"

The men quickly enter and upon finding the mirror, Ralph Nader steps up and says, " Mirror, Mirror on the wall---I think I have truly fought to clean up the pollution and corruption all my adult life."    Suddenly, he finds an envelope in his hands with the title to a brand new Bentley---and  a note that directs him as to where to get his new car…also it contained the keys.

 

Al Gore steps up and says, " Mirror, Mirror on the wall ---I think I have been a very sincere, ambitious advocate of clean air and water of all politicians," ---- and in an instant, he was surrounded by a pile of money.

 

                 Excited over the possibility of having his grandest wish  come true,

                 George W. Bush looks deep into the mirror and says, "I think......"

                         ---then, he was promptly sucked into the mirror.
